Join the Ohinemuri Singers

The Ohinemuri Singers are a mixed voice (SATB) choir with members from Waihi, Paeroa and the wider district.
Practices are every Monday evening from 7.15pm to 9.00pm at the Paeroa Bible Chapel and the Salvation Army Citadel in Waihi (dates for practices at Waihi are provided to choir members).
We work towards two concerts each year - a Mid Winter concert and a Christmas concert.  At times we have sing for other events such as the Paeroa Tattoo, Combined concerts with other choirs etc.
Music choice caters for a varying range of tastes from traditional choral music to Broadway hits, songs from Musicals, Spirituals, Popular Songs, Jazz Standards, Early Music, Folksongs and well-known Opera choruses.
2010 saw us end the year with a modern Christmas Cantata, 'Born A King'.  This was extremely well-attended with full houses at all venues.  We will sing another Christmas musical/cantata for the 2011 concert.
This is a community choir which allows anyone who wishes to sing in a choir, to join.  There are no auditions and no requirements to read music.  Practices CDs are produced for difficult works to take home and practice along with.  All that is required is a love of singing.
If you are interested in joining the Choir, please contact the conductor at musicroom@hotmail.co.nz .
